First, whoa- been a stressful two weeks... mom had a stroke on October 30th. We haven't had something like this happen to close family since grandma when I was just a child. And it's mom! It's been scary and emotionally draining. But she's feeling and doing much better now- tomorrow she gets moved from the hospital and into a nursing facility for rehab (physical therapy, speech therapy, etc). We still have a LOT to do to get the house ready for her return but when we're not cleaning and packing up junk this weekend...

I just want to draw!

It has been MONTHS since I picked up a pencil for myself. I think it was August 20-something that I started to carve everyday for Otakumex. Before that I think I was heavily into my bone cleaning and photography. So about 4+ months I haven't drawn anything. More like 6+ months I bet! This saddens me. My hands miss sketch paper and bristol board. My eyes miss the home-made light board. The sound of pencils scratching paper, the spongy feeling of copic markers, the smooth glide of micron pens...

I am going to try very hard to draw at least two finished sketches this weekend from my much over-due owed list of freebie floaty-characters (list is and has been full, please don't request any yet unless it's as barter for something I need!). And maybe start taking my blank mole-skin journal for drawings to work again.
