Bird reliquary

Made this a super long time ago and I never uploaded it.

The blue bird was given to me by my grandmother and it had a long history of falling off the necklace I always wore it on. I am super lucky that I always found it everytime it did. Once it fell off while I was walking in between highschool classes and we found it in a gravel pit, of very very tiny gravel. O.o

So I made this box and secured it inside with wire. It closes with a strong magnet and the box had a loop on the top (that macaroni shaped thing) to thread a cord through.

I forget the name of what this is supposed to be exactly. Like a keepsake box but not. It's a box you hand-make that is supposed to hold a very important item. Any clues what it's called, my lovelies?
